Johnston County Sheriff’s deputies told her several times to drop the gun.
This incident started when Johnston County Sheriff’s deputies and North Carolina Highway Patrol found a woman laying in the grass in front of a wrecked Yukon. Fifty year old Tina Renee Medlin stumbled onto her feet as deputies arrives on scene.
Witnesses had already told 911 that Medlin had a gun. Deputies told her to show her hands and she refused. One deputy says “I see a weapon!” as Medlin raises a gun and fires one shot at officers.
Both officers on scene first several shots at the woman, ending the threat. Medlin died three days later in the hospital after taking a round to the head.
