Las Vegas Officer Shoots Knife Wielding Suspect From Patrol Car

An officer involved shooting took place Tuesday involving a Las Vegas Metro police officer and a suspected carjacker with a knife.

Earlier this week, police were called to man who tried to attack a group of people and steal a car. 16-year police veteran William Pollock was the first to arrive on scene. As Pollock arrived on scene, 27-year-old Caleb Blaylock starts stabbing himself with a knife. Pollock pulls his weapon and tells the man to drop his knife. Blaylock responds by taking off running.

Officer Pollock follows the man as he continues to stab himself. As he stops the patrol car Blaylock runs at the officer, knife in hand. Pollock fire five shots in the video, successfully ending the threat.

He was placed on paid administrative lead while the investigation continues.
