A Maybrook, New York, police officer mag dumps on a suspect who had just shot his Chief of Police. The Chief was clearing rooms with his officers.
It’s not everyday that you see a police chief clearing houses with his officers. Mayfield Chief Arnold “Butch” Amthor responded to the call of a domestic disturbance early Tuesday morning. The body camera footage starts out with the point officer breaking down the door and entering the apartment.
The point officer sees the suspect down the hall and calls out to show his hands. Amthor can be see in the kitchen beside the point man. Point officer tells the suspect, 28-year-old Anthony Bostick, to step out multiple times.
Anthony can be heard saying “stop” several times before firing one shot and striking Amthor once in the shoulder.
The point officer unloads two full magazines into the drywall that Anthony is taking cover behind. One more muffled shot can be heard and the officer says “He shot himself.” The officers back out of the residence while a bomb robot confirms the suspect is dead.
Cheif Amthor was taken to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Outstanding job point man and Chief!
