A random man driving his van down the road helps police catch a wanted suspect.
This incident started on Friday when an officer initiated a traffic stop on a Chevy Malibu. The owner of the Malibu, 26-year-old Kolbe Jordan, was wanted for several traffic violations and the vehicle’s plates were suspended.
The dash-cam footage released shows an officer pick up on the chase right before it ends. The officer starts pursuing Jordan right as he swings into the entrance of a busy shopping center.
An unnamed man in a white work van swerves into Jordan’s car and ends the chase. Officers then take the two men in the Malibu into custody.
Reports state that officers found “10 bundles of heroin” and a stolen loaded pistol with a 30 round magazine. Police state that Jordan was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, third-degree fleeing and eluding, possession of narcotics and driving while license suspended.
Sgt. Baron Brown with the Ferndale Police Department told reporters that the good Samaritan’s heart was in the right place, but he’s doesn’t recommend what the man did.
