A Baltimore County police officer was shot today during a gunfight with an armed robbery suspect.

At around 3:00 p.m. earlier today Baltimore police responded to a possible armed robbery. When police arrived on scene, the suspect got onto a Maryland Transit bus and opened fire on police.

In the video below, you can see the suspect shooting at the officers who are taking cover behind the rear of a police car. Several shots can bee seen peppering the front windows of the bus, but unfortunately none of them struck the suspect.

The man suddenly runs off of the bus and takes cover behind a van. He fires several more shots at police. The bystander who is filming decides that’s enough for him and takes off running.

A female Baltimore County police officer was shot during the gun battle; reports have listed her in critical condition.  A civilian is also being treated for injuries.

The suspect was shot and killed shortly after he ran behind the van.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the injured officer.
