During an hours long stand-off with a barricaded North Carolina man, S.W.A.T. officers are forced to defend themselves when they are confronted.
A Charlotte, North Carolina, man who had been barricaded in his home for several hours, threatens S.W.A.T. officers when he spots them stacked up on the side of his home. As soon as he rounds the corner, he raises his hunting rifle towards the team. The man at the point position then responds with lightning-like reflexes and puts the man down with a well-aimed burst from his suppressed MP5.
The S.W.A.T. Teams objective was to detain the man as he came out from the house while talking to the police negotiator. However, the man decided to turn the corner of his house. Surprised by what he saw, he tried to raise his weapon to ward the team off. Tragically, the obviously mentally distraught man lost his life in the instant the lead officer in the stack defended himself and the other officers behind him.
